Virgin Trains USA, the first for-profit rail service to launch in the U.S. in decades, says it’s on track to begin ferrying passengers between West Palm Beach and Orlando in 2022. Standing on a platform at Orlando International Airport, Wes Edens, the billionaire backer of Brightline, said the rail service’s shiny new trains traveling up to 125 mph will prove an attractive alternative to what he called the “miserable drive” between Central Florida and South Florida.

Edens, the head of Fortress Investment Group and owner of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, already promises to replicate for-profit city-to-city train service throughout the U.S. He’s in talks to link Victorville, Calif., and Las Vegas. He also sees the potential for Virgin Trains connections between Houston and Dallas, Atlanta and Charlotte and other metro areas.

The Palm Beaches serve as a one-of-a-kind diving destination, home to both natural and artificial reefs. Natural reefs compose the northernmost stretch of the Florida Reef Tract, the third largest living barrier reef in the world. The Palm Beach stretch is remarkable, with its base composed of limestone creating a habitat for quirky bottom-dwelling critters. Local reef residents include flowery hydra-corals, hairy gorgonians, crimson sponge communities over the rocks. With proximity to the Gulf Stream, the area welcomes large pelagic fish from the deep waters. Palm Beach County provides over 150 artificial reefs created by sunken vessels, limestone, concrete and even luxury vehicles.

It may seem counterintuitive, but one of the best ways to reduce stress while traveling is to just plan less and let spontaneity take over.

You’re on a beach. White sand surrounds you. A cool breeze gently passes over from the turquoise waters just beyond your feet. You sip your piña colada, moving aside the tiny umbrella. The sound of the waves lulls you to sleep as you think: this is the life, I may never leave.

There’s a dizzying number of credit cards to choose from — with most offering tempting perks to get you to sign up and spend money. But with so many options, it can be tricky deciding which perk to go with: Do you opt for a great sign-up bonus? Initial zero-percent interest? Or choose a card that offers cash back?

According to a new CreditCards.com report, this is yet another area where Millennials differ from previous generations. Over one-third of Americans said 3 percent cash back on all purchases is the most alluring feature on a credit card, while 36 percent of Millennials (ages 23-38) said they were more likely to be enticed by hefty credit card signup bonuses — specifically $500 in cash or $1,200 in travel credit.

It’s a myth that a “real” camera instantly makes all photos better. Sure, there are some photographs only possible with big lenses and a real camera, but these situations are less common than you’d think.

A good photographer can take award-winning photos with whatever camera is available. Or to put it another way, your photos aren’t going to get better just because you have an expensive camera. Anyone can make sounds with a guitar, but you have to learn how to make music with it, and it takes a lot of work to master it. A camera is the same.

Before you spend money on a new camera, try improving the photos you take with your current camera or phone. You may be happy enough with the results that you’ll skip the new camera completely.

‘One Piece Plan’ encourages everyone to pick up litter from beaches and waterways.

You can join the movement to clean up our beautiful beaches, waterways, and parks without having to join a club or make a donation. All you have to do is pick up one piece of trash.

“If everybody I paddled out with did this, everybody who walked down the beach does this, it can make a tremendous cumulative impact,” said Tom Fucigna, known as Tom Fu to his Facebook followers. “That’s what it’s all about.”
